About MilePaceLab
MilePaceLab is a free set of running pace calculators, converters and guides on one site. There is no login or signup. Each tool shows its working, and each number is checked against independent calculations.
Why this site exists
Runners use pace tools for race plans, treadmill workouts and training logs. The tools, explanations and sources were spread across many sites, and many tools showed raw decimals, rounded distances or hid their formulas. MilePaceLab puts the tools and the explanations in one place and shows results as minutes and seconds.
Who runs it
MilePaceLab is built and written by Shaheer Bin Ramzan, a software engineer and SEO specialist in Pakistan with five years of professional experience. He is not a running coach or doctor, and the site says so wherever it matters. Read his author page for his background, tools and limits.
Our principles
- Accuracy first. All calculators share one formula library. Charts and tables are generated from it, not typed by hand, and automated tests check every published table and worked example.
- Show the working. Every page explains the formula and the constants it uses. The methodology page lists them all.
- Cite and qualify. Studies are cited and described for what they measured and what they did not.
- Useful pages only. A page is built only if it answers a real question, offers something the pages already online do not, and can be verified.
- Respect the reader. No account, no pop-ups, and the numbers you enter stay in your browser.
What we do not do
- We do not give medical advice or personal training plans. See the disclaimer.
- We do not claim that a prediction is a promise. Predictions are estimates, and each page says where its method runs optimistic.
- We do not sell or share the numbers you type into a calculator.
How the site earns money
MilePaceLab may show display advertising in future. Ads would never replace or change calculator results. If we add affiliate links we will label them. Before any ads appear, we will update the privacy policy and cookie policy and ask for consent where the law requires it.
How we use AI
AI tools, including Claude, help with research, drafting and quality checks. The author reviews the output and is responsible for what is published. Calculations are checked by automated tests, not by AI. See the methodology.
What comes next
We add a page only when it answers a real question and can be checked against a source or a test. Planned work includes more guides tied to the calculators and an embeddable version of the pace calculator with a link back to the source. New pages are logged on the methodology page.
